Abstract

Combining the Konno aortoventriculoplasty with the Ross procedure is being used increasingly for the management of infants and children with complex left-ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO) associated with aortic valve disease and/or aortic annular hypoplasia. We have successfully used a modification of the technique, effectively relieving the LVOTO without creating a ventricular septal defect (VSD). This modification we refer to as 'Mini-Ross-Konno' simplified the procedure and provided an optimal and long-lasting relief of the LVOTO.
