Abstract

This article suggests a small change in grading that can cause a big change in learning—“the mighty bonus point.” Bonus points that contribute no more than two percent of a student's grade can help create a group atmosphere where everyone helps the group. Bonus points are awarded for outstanding contributions to the class and are used to encourage peer tutoring and general group learning.
