Abstract

A solution for the current density function in a microstrip transmission line with a step discontinuity of the finite length is proposed. The current density in an nonuniform strip line is described through a vector potential of the magnetic type, which is expanded into series in Chebyshev orthogonal polynomials, taking into account the behavior of currents on thin edge. The investigation for convergence of the algorithm for solving boundary value problems was carried out using the example of an inductive section in a microstrip transmission line (in a two-layer planar structure) and its combination with an H-shaped slot resonator (in a three-layer planar structure). As an example, the scattering characteristics of a two-plane distributed discontinuity by the transverse resonance method are calculated.
