Abstract

A new parameterization of the double-hump barrier containing a non-vanishing imaginary part is introduced. The real part of the potential has been fitted to the barrier calculated according to the Strutinski method. These calculations are based on the four-dimensional (ε 2, ε 3, ε 4, ε 5) Nilsson scheme. The effect of the deformation-dependent mass parameter on the probability of fission has been partially accounted for. The 241Pu(d, pf) process is studied theoretically and the results are compared with the experimental data.
