Abstract

Energy spectra of α-particles from the reaction Mg 25(d, α)Na 23 for ten energies in the range 1.5–2.5 MeV at backward angles have been investigated. Relative intensities of the α-groups are discussed in the light of the 2 J+1 rule. Using this rule the existence of a doublet at 3 MeV with assigned spin values are suggested.
