Abstract

The approach for extension of dynamic range of photo detectors based on application of optical synchronization method is presented. A method has been developed that makes it possible to use modern CMOS cameras as an optical radiation receiver and laser emitters as illuminators. An experimental evaluation of the effectiveness of the proposed approach was carried out. It is shown that the method allows several times to expand the dynamic range of the photodetector without making changes to the design of the photodetector.
