Abstract

Sequence stratigraphy division is important steps in petroleum exploration and development, logging data is the reflection of lithology and physical properties, which contains a large amount information of periodic changes in the sequence stratigraphic. In this paper, we analyze the logging signal by wavelet transform and spectral analysis, based on the law of optimal scale and optimal scaling factor corresponding to the energy spectrum on the frequency band that occupies the maximum proportion of the total energy, the method of normalization maximal energy spectrum is put forward. Use this method to select the optimal scale factor and wavelet coefficients corresponding to it after transforming the logging data by wavelet, and then divide the sequence stratigraphy according to the cyclicity of this wavelet coefficients. The method has further improved the objectivity and accuracy of sequence stratigraphy division.Keywordswavelet transformnormalization maximal energy spectrumlogging signalsequence stratigraphywavelet coefficient
