Abstract
This work presents a new numerical technique for problems of free vibrations of non-homogeneous Timoshenko beams. The method is based on modeling of forced vibrations of the beam under action of some external excitation and on the approximation of the solution by the radial basis functions (RBFs). The resonant frequencies of the beam are determined by the amplitude of the response to this excitation. The results are compared with the data obtained with the help of other numerical techniques.
