Abstract

The quality of irrigation with wide-coverage sprinkler equipment largely depends on the design of sprinklers and their location on the rain belt. The purpose of the presented article is to improve the methodology for calculating sprinklers and to develop recommendations on the applicability of sprinklers in various conditions. The article presents a method for determining the nozzle diameter based on ensuring uniformity of irrigation, characteristics of the water flow coming off the deflector, and the radius of capture by rain. The trajectories of movement in the opposite direction of the wind for droplets with different sizes are given. The optimal angle is indicated depending on the wind speed. The maximum radius corresponds to the angle of departure of the water flow to the horizon within 28..32 °. The distance between the sprinklers along the water supply pipeline of wide-reach sprinklers should be at least 2/3 of the radius of rain capture, without taking into account the effects of wind.
