Abstract
Synopsis The digestible and metabolisable energy values of a sample of maize yellow dextrin, determined using five colostomised hens were 11.602 ± 0.276 and 9.142 ± 0.230 MJ/kg (2473±66 and 2185±55 kcal/kg), respectively. These values are 65 and 57 % respectively of the gross energy of the dextrin.
