Abstract

Reviews the history and development of Rissalat Al-Maktaba [The Message of the Library], the journal of the Jordan Library Association, which has been published without interruption since 1965. Discusses the reasons for the survival and success of the journal in terms of economic and financial aspects and intellectual and content aspects. Concludes that the story of Rissalat Al-Maktaba shows that library journals in developing countries can survive with effective management and support from the profession.
