Abstract

A mesoscopic Josephson junction in a circular superconducting ring enclosing a magnetostatic flux is considered here whose Hamiltonian resembles with the Hamiltonian of nonlinear Kerr-effect in quantum optics. The number-phase Wigner function shows that the state of junction evolves into quantum superposition of two coherent states yet the number-phase representation evolves classically.
