Abstract
ABSTRACTThe current project describes the implementation of an established mental training program to a collegiate softball team (N = 17). Jason Selk, director of mental training for the St. Louis Cardinals, developed the Ten-Minute Toughness program. The mental training included Centering Breaths, Performance Statement, Personal Highlight Reel, and Identity Statement. The weekly sessions (N = 5) were delivered in a group format prior to practice. A post mental training evaluation revealed that a vast majority of the athletes reported that the workshop was helpful and that their ability to use the mental skills improved.
