Abstract

An account is given of the distribution of megaspores in the Productive Coal Measures and in the Limestone Coal Group of the west Ayrshire coalfield of Scotland. The two coal groups between them comprise 25 coal seams and contain at least 24 types of megaspores . . . . The megaspore assemblages of the two coal groups are characteristic of Westphalian A-B and Namurian A respectively.
