I 'd recommend this book—a Lonely Planet guide, if you like, for healthcare workers, with many of the same strengths and limitations of that series. A second edition always has the advantage of having been tried and tested; initial teething problems will hopefully have been ironed out. A great deal more information has been added to this edition. The book is divided into three sections: Getting Ready, Destinations, and Adventure Medicine (expedition, diving, mountain medicine, and so on).
