Abstract

Purpose- Aim was to find the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relation of high performance work practices with employee engagement in apparel manufacturing and retail sector. Design/methodology/approach- Data was collected from 256 employees of an apparel manufacturing and retail companies in Bangalore through an experimental survey. The data was run through factor analysis and regression through SEM AMOS. Findings– The results will be told once the analysis is done. Practical implications- The company can continue with HR practices followed which makes it a good place to work for employees and practice good leadership to motivate people to join this sector which are facing challenging times. Originality/value – This paper uses Value percept theory to explain employee engagement construct and Dynamic capability theory to explain HR practices in an apparel manufacturing sector in India both of which are a novelty of the paper.
