Abstract

Urban land redevelopment as a fundamental means of city development influences urban economic development and space evolution. To reduce the negative impact on traffic systems and guide reasonable land redevelopment, this paper begins with the connotation of urban land redevelopment to make the changing elements clear, and then analyzes the relationships between urban land redevelopment and traffic systems at both the macro and micro levels. After that, there is a further study on how urban land redevelopment affects the traffic flow and impacts traffic systems. Finally, an illustrative example is given. The paper shows that the traffic generation, distribution and mode choice are changing, while the land type and intensity change; which is why the spatial and temporal patterns of traffic flow are different. But, the impact is two-sided; improving the traffic system according to the new demand will contribute to the positive effect.
