Abstract

The addition of a supersonic current to the signal current in recording on a magnetic medium results in recordings of low-harmonic distortion. Recording in this fashion is an accepted part of the art, although it is not well understood. The mechanism whereby this type of recording operates is presented in Part 1. An extension in the oscillographic technique of obtaining B-H curves of magnetic specimens is presented in Part II. A circuit is presented which makes possible simultaneous viewing of major and minor hysteresis loops.
