Abstract
The mechanical properties of Ni-Mn-Sn alloy thin films with excellent magnetic properties are poor, which limit practical application seriously. Therefore, the effect of Fe doping on the mechanical properties and martensitic reverse transformation of Ni-Mn-Sn thin films were investigated. The grain size of Ni50-xMn39Sn11Fex (x = 0, 0.5, 2, 4) thin films decreases with increasing Fe content. The As and Af of Ni50-xMn39Sn11Fex (x = 0, 0.5, 2) thin films gradually decrease with the increase of Fe content. The austenitic Curie temperature of austenite increases with increasing Fe content. The hardness and elastic modulus of Ni50-xMn39Sn11Fex (x = 0, 0.5, 2, 4) thin films increase with increasing Fe content. The wear resistance, toughness and creep resistance of thin films increases with increasing Fe content. Therefore, doping Fe in Ni-Mn-Sn thin films can improve mechanical properties of alloy thin films significantly.
