Abstract

Methods are suggested for the measurement of the rate of volume losses of charged particles at high electron temperatures under the conditions of diffusion-recombination relaxation of a plasma. The dissociative recombination coefficient is measured in a constricted argon discharge. The dependence of the effective recombination coefficient on electron concentration is derived on the basis of space-time measurements of recombination radiation.
