Abstract
This paper deals with the use of a thyratron for measuring the maximum value of an alternating voltage such as the potential drop in a low-resistance shunt, carrying an alternating current. By this method, the maximum value of the potential difference can be determined within 0.02 V. Reference is made to the various precautions necessary to ensure reliable and consistent readings.
