Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is to call power engineers' attention to the line loss in the residential wiring system. This paper introduces a measurement method which measures the node voltages and applies the approximate loss equations to calculating the line loss. This method is very effective and efficient because it does not involve measuring the line current. This paper also presents field test data and the results of an economic evaluation to demonstrate the role of the interior wiring loss in an effort to conserve energy.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
