Abstract

The article discusses the relationship between religion and science, with a particular focus on the theory of nonoverlapping magisteria (NOMA) developed by paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould. Details on the roles of morality and existential meaning in science are presented. Other topics include mortality and scientists Jerry A. Coyne and Sam Harris.
