Abstract
This Report was produced during 1982 and 1983 by a working party with the active participation of ten members. The Report discusses conformance in general and identifies general criteria for establishing conformance by standards of various categories. The Member Companies of the Association reserve for themselves individually expression of views on the complex legal and commercial issues arising in many countries relating to certification of conformance. The Report was adopted unanimously by ECMA at its General Assembly in June, 1983.
