Abstract

Meeting is an integral part of management. Meetings are held for various reasons, regardless of the public or private sector. Although the purpose of each of these meetings differs from the other, the common subject in all of them is management. Meetings, and therefore meeting management, are of great importance in displaying a successful management. Because, according to the results obtained from the meetings, every business, situation and event is directed. As a matter of fact, meetings are an important tool used/should be used in the effective fulfillment of the concepts of planning, organization, management, coordination and supervision, which are described as the basic functions of management. However, it is debatable whether the necessary attention is paid to the meeting and the management of the meeting and whether its value is understood. In this study, the importance of meeting management in fulfilling the basic functions of management will be discussed.
