Abstract

Electron impact mass spectra of six isomeric compounds, namely perezone, isoperezone, α-pipitzol, β-pipitzol, β-isopipitzol and dihydroisoperezinone have been recorded. The proposed fragmentation pathways leading to the formation of a number of important daughter ions have been confirmed from the corresponding parent ion spectra by collision-induced dissociation (CID) experiments. The elemental composition of the principal fragment ions was determined by accurate mass measurements. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
