Abstract

Summary While the significance of the bird and animal world in the imagery of La Tene art is clear, the opportunity is taken here to bring together a number of pieces, both well-known and recent, from the major site of Manching. Noting associations where these can be ascertained, it is argued that the animal figures seem to underline the significance of Manching as a cultic centre.
