Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper describes how a Large Group can heal the emotionally scarred victims stigma. This heterogeneous group creates the microcosm of society. The object is to raise the self-esteem of those people who attend by providing a regular place and time for them, sitting in a single circle, to talk to each other without there being any agenda. There are examples of how the Large Group has been used by different disadvantaged members of our society. An analogy is drawn of the many Large Groups to which we all belong in our social and professional lives. Likewise the Large Group exposes how events in the outside world, for example Chernobyl, cause panic and anxiety in each individual's inner world. Could there be a regular weekly Large Group on our television sets?
