Abstract

Raised intracranial pressure in children can arise from many conditions and may lead to serious morbidity or death despite modern intensive-care management. The presenting signs may be subtle in very young children, leading to delays in recognition and treatment. This review discusses the pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and clinical management of intracranial hypertension in children, with particular emphasis on the practical aspects of intensive-care management.
