Abstract

Objective To summarized the clinical features,treatment and prognosis of the Giant mediastinal lymph node hyper- plasia(Castleman's disease). Methods The clinical data of 20 patients with Castleman's disease were analyzed. Results All pa- tients underwent surgical resection for their lymph node hyperplasia. The diagnosis of Castleman' disease was proved by pathological examination. Among all the cases,11 patients were hyaline vascular subtype, 8 were plasma cell subtype and 1 was mixed subtype. All 20 patients d unicentric disease were alive with no evidence recurrenee after surgery. Conclusion Castleman's disease is a rare condition. It usually located in mediastinum. The diagnosis mainly depends on the pathological examination. Surgery is the best choice for unicentric disease and the prognosis is well.
