Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the problems of formation and development of the institute of local self-government in Kazakhstan. I analyze the current state of local self-government in Kazakhstan, political-administrative, socio-economic problems and problems related to the participation of the population in self-government are identified. With the help of a sociological survey of experts, the identified problems are clarified. In conclusion, the author suggests a number of measures that will help improve the situation in local self-government, including strengthening the legal framework, increasing the efficiency of budget financing and increasing the level of public participation in local self-government affairs. The article may be of interest to specialists engaged in the study of the local government system.
