Abstract

The low-temperature magnetization plateaus of the general spin Blume–Capel model on the Bethe lattice in an external magnetic field and single-ion anisotropy are studied by using iteration technique and restricting ourselves to the case of antiferromagnetic exchange interactions. Exact expressions for the local magnetizations are obtained. Low-temperature magnetization shows step-like plateau characterized by several critical magnetic fields which reflects the competing effect of magnetic interactions and thermal fluctuations. The effects of the external magnetic field and single-ion anisotropy parameters on the magnetization plateaus are discussed in detail.
