Abstract

This work reports investigations on the armature reaction field in synchronous machines with respect to its variability due to the variation of damper shields and environmental stator iron core. Based on the well known scaling laws of electrical machines [1] the investigation of the field was done experimentally in a reduced scale model. The theoretical background, the model and experimental results are presented.
