Abstract

Within the framework of the effective-field theory with a probability distribution technique which accounts for the self-spin correlations, we study the magnetic properties of the spin-1 Ising system with the transverse crystal field and the applied external magnetic field. The influence of the transverse crystal field on the phase diagrams, hysteresis loops and susceptibility is discussed in detail.
