Abstract

Abstract A series of Bi1−xSrxFeO3 ceramics (x = 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3) were prepared by solid reaction method. With the doping of Sr2+ ions, the magnetic hysteresis loops with remnant magnetizations are observed in these ceramics. The result of Mossbauer spectroscopy rules out the existence of the tetravalence of iron. No obvious variation in magnetic order temperature is observed with Sr2+ doping. The origin of the weak ferromagnetism in Bi1−xSrxFeO3 ceramics has been discussed in this paper.
