Abstract

We show that the magnetic Grüneisen parameter, GM = 1 − ∂ log χ/∂ log n, provides new insight into the effective interactions between the 3He quasi-particles in dilute 3He-4He mixtures. From currently available data we also show that 1 − GM has a minimum at a very low concentration ∼(0.1 ÷ 0.17)% and that this has a weak pressure dependence. The implications for microscopic models are discussed.
