Abstract
The magnetic field surrounding wireless power transfer (WPT) systems is difficult for the general public to discern in practice. To address this problem, a system that only measures the current in the coils for transferring and receiving to get the coupler’s magnetic field strength at a specific geographic location in space is proposed. The system includes a current transformer, inductive power-harvesting device, rectifier module, voltage regulation module, microprocessor, AD module, and display module. Due to the fixed mechanical structure and position of the coupler when working, the calculation model of the magnetic field of the coupler is established, and the magnetic structure factor based on the mechanical structure of the coupler is defined. The system can obtain power and operate based on the inductive power harvesting principle without damaging the WPT system structure. It also can realize the convenient display of the magnetic field and avoid the dependence on professional instruments when measuring the magnetic field of the coupler. In addition, it is easy to implement in practice.
