Abstract

We discuss the behavior of GCR modulation-important heliospheric characteristics, along with the behavior of the intensity itself in the region of the Earth’s orbit in epochs of the minimum of the solar cycle (and the maximum of GCR intensity). Of special interest is the situation of the current anomalously prolonged and deep minimum of the 24th cycle. We investigate how the maximum GCR intensity in this cycle (which is substantially different for low and high energies) could be related to this same characteristic in previous normal minima of solar activity.
