Abstract

Magnetic alloys are the key to the future of the power electronics industry. The recent development of transformers, chokes, inductors, filters and the emergence of completely new technologies call for entirely new types of magnetic alloys prepared by mechanical alloying (MA) methods. These magnetic materials appeal to the properties and operating requirements of these applications because of their high magnetization and low coercivity. With expanded application of these materials expected in the future, it is appropriate to review the magnetic properties of some of the most important magnetic iron-based alloys (Fe–Ni, Fe–Si, Fe–Co, Fe–Si–Ni and Fe–Si–B) prepared by MA method.
