Abstract

A bosonized version of the generalized SU(3) Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model including scalar, pseudoscalar, vector and axial couplings is considered up to one quark loop in the context of chiral perturbation theory. To this end a derivative expansion up to fourth order in the presence of external fields is performed. The exchange of vector and scalar mesons at the mean field level is taken into account explicitly and discussed. It is found that the predictions of the model are in good agreement with the results of chiral perturbation theory if some constraints on the regularization scheme are imposed.
