Abstract

This article aims to simulate natural gas vehicle (NGVs) refueling station located in Bucharest, which includes an on-board cylinder, reservoir tanks, connecting pipes, and a reciprocating compressor using thermodynamic analysis. Tanks’ pressures during the filling process were changed: 180-200, 200-220, and 220-235 bar for low, average and high pressure respectively. Furthermore, sensitivity analyses were implemented to study changing the cylinder initial pressure and the influence of vehicles’ number alteration. The simulation result for mass flow rate is close to the experimental measurements. Additionally, the higher the initial pressure inside vehicle tank, the lower mass delivered and the shorter loading time. Finally, this study helps the government to increase the environmentally friendly fuel in the local market.
