Abstract

This paper presents a simple algebraic approach to the interpretation of wind erosion data that allows for density variation close to the surface due to the presence of large amounts of saltating material. The effect explains nonlinearities in the logarithmic velocity profile near the surface and extends the profile into the saltating layer.
