Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image size Additional informationNotes on contributorsBriana BiancoBriana Bianco is a master’s student in anthropology with a focus in Mesoamerican archaeology at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. Her thesis research explores the continuity of stingless beekeeping practices from pre Columbian to modern times in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. With the help of a Sigma Xi grant, her research has used soil chemistry analysis to determine how to identify beekeeping archaeologically. She has presented her research at the Society for American Archaeology conferences, served as treasurer and president of the Anthropology Graduate Student Organization at NMSU and won an Outstanding Graduate Assistant award.
