Abstract

The precise location of the holy house of Herod's Temple has been widely discussed and disputed during the past century. Prevailing current opinion holds that the holy house was located where the Dome of the Rock now stands. Evidence from the period after the Romans destroyed the temple in 70 C.E. suggests a location to the north.
