Abstract

Summary A method of using the interlobar septa, and the ‘outlines’ of the mediastinum, diaphragm, and chest wall as a means of localizing segmental pulmonary consolidation is described. The interference with the normal radiographic contrast of overlying bone structures caused by lower lobe consolidation is used as a means of diagnosis and localization.
