The Local Government Support to the Lanzones Festival Activities in Camiguin

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the government support on the Lanzones festival activities in Camiguin specifically Agro fair, beauty pageant and street dancing. The study pursued the following objectives: 1.) To identify the respondents profile in the different local government units,their position, length of service, monthly income and work description 2.) To determine the local government support to the Lanzones festival in terms of financing, peace and order and promotion and publicity. 3.) To determine the Lanzones festival activities supported by the local government unit in Camiguin in terms of agro-fair, beauty pageant and street dancing.The findings revealed that the different local government unit supports the different festival activities of the island like agro-fair for local farmers, street dancing contest and beauty pageant. This is through the financing support, peace and order support and promotion and publicity support by the government to its province. The support provided by the different local government offices and employees ensured that the festival is celebrated annually and shall be sustainable throughout the years.
