Abstract

Libraries belonging to private readers and artists in the kingdom of Spain around 1600 have been specially important; those belonging to architects have a privileged place, and among these the one owned by sculptor andarchitect Juan Bautista de Monegro deserves a minute study, not only because we have its inventory but because around 25 of his books have been preserved until today, filled with his annotations and sketched drawings.
