Abstract

A comprehensively well-designed rehabilitation, reintegration and assistance program will assist and aid in the recovery of child victims of human trafficking from the trauma of trafficking. The general objective of reintegration and rehabilitation programs will aid in re-orienting the psyche of trafficked individuals while creating for them economic and social opportunities. That notwithstanding, there are challenges associated to the practicality and relevance of psychotherapy sections used inrehabilitation and reintegration. The challenge has conceptually been linked to the lack of cultural relevance of western psychology applied in the rehabilitation and reintegration programmes of child victims of trafficking in Africa. And finally, possible recommendations for rehabilitation and reintegration programmes in Africa.
