Abstract
Fenusa Pumila Klug., an insect native to Europe, was first reported in the United States in 1924. It is now present in the northeastern part of the country and in southeastern Canada. In Connecticut, there are three generations a season. The eggs are laid in the newly-developing leaves of birch. In Connecticut this insect has been found attacking gray, white, and European white birches. Nicotine sulfate appears to be a promising ovicide.
