Abstract
AbstractThe Pd‐catalyzed, CuI−carboxylate‐mediated cross‐coupling reaction of organosulfur compounds with nucleophilic organometallic reagents is known as the Liebeskind–Srogl cross‐coupling reaction. Owing to the readily available starting materials and neutral reaction conditions, it has become an attractive procedure for the formation of carbon−carbon bonds, in particular for cases in which traditional methods had failed. Since the seminal work of Liebeskind and Srogl in 2000, this reaction has received intense attention from the synthetic community. In this Focus Review, we highlight recent advances in this intriguing cross‐coupling reaction and its applications in organic synthesis.
